Donald Edward Barton

Donald Edward Barton, age 88, of Heber Springs passed away February 8, 2017 at Seven Springs Nursing Home. He was born June 14, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan ,the son of the late Martha Barton. He was a Marine veteran serving in the Korean War and was of the catholic faith.

Mr. Barton was an auditor for Eastern Weighing and Inspection Bureau for many years. He loved classic cars and big band music. He was a drummer and singer with various bands in his younger years. He loved his cat Sugar and loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rita Wisniewski Barton and half brother, Robert Purdy. He is survived by one daughter Susan Diane Fox and husband Mike of Heber Springs; and half sister Debbie Sutphin and husband Arnold of Helena, Michigan; six grandchildren and many friends.

A family service is planned at St. Patrick Cemetery in Bay City, Michigan at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, March 6, 2017.
