Yuri Shearer, age 57, died on May 31, 2026 in Little Rock Arkansas at Saint Vincent’s Hospital surrounded by family. 

He was born in Williston, North Dakota, but lived in Froyd, Montana. As a young boy he moved to Chamois, Missouri, where he graduated from high school (1986). He later went to college at the College of the Ozarks in Branson, Missouri. Then graduated from ASU Beebe with a degree in Nursing. Yuri was a retired nurse of thirty-two years, who practiced at Unity Health in Searcy Arkansas. He also taught Advanced Cardiac Life-Support Systems, as well as being a certified X-Ray Tech, and Case Manager. He was a master gardener for Cleburne County for many years, and was a lover of roses, owning seventy-six varieties. His true love was sports, a life long (supporter) of the Missouri Tigers and Saint Louis Cardinals, but he never met a sport he didn’t like. He was a Sunday school teacher for many years for all three of his children. During his children’s early years, he was a 4H leader. He was a well respected member of the Masonic Lodge one hundred eighty five in Chamois, Missouri. 

Yuri is preceded in death by Alma M Schaffer & Norma Lee Shearer. Yuri is survived by his loving (wife) Karen Smith Shearer & (sister) Anne Marie Jung. He will be lovingly remembered by his children; Ian Lee Shearer, Colin James Shearer, and Mary Katherine Shearer-Shatterly. Yuri is survived by his (daughter in-law) Addison Honey Shearer and (grandson) Kurt James Shearer, as well as (son in-law) Scott Thomas Shatterly. He was treasured by many friends, family, and colleagues. He will be missed but we know we will see his loving face again.

The service will be held Friday, June 5, 2026 at 1099 W Pine St. Heber Springs, Arkansas, 72543, at 5pm central time. If you would like to donate to his favorite charity, he would like it to go to the Shriners Hospital.
