Violet "Pete" Mangrum, age 98, of Heber Springs, went to be with the Lord, April 7, 2018. She was born December 14, 1919 near Cash, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late William and Rose Walker. Most of her working years she was involved in farming. Pete was a member of Tumbling Shoals Baptist Church.
Mrs. Baker's hobbies included hunting, fishing, and she was an avid bowler in her earlier years.
Left to cherish her memory include her husband of 36 years, Richard E. Baker; her stepchildren Richard M. Baker (Mary) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Charlotte Carlson (Craig) of Jamestown, NY, Karen Buchanan (Keith) of Fort Worth, TX, and Donna Sward of Little Rock. Pete is survived by 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, April 9th from 1 to 2 pm at the Heber Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Services will follow visitation on Monday at the Funeral Home with Brother Brad Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Terry Davidson, Tim Baldwin, Harold Mason, Jr., Richard Rose, Gary Xiques, Tommy Vaughan. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Michael Justus, Stan Lee and Louis Lee.
Music for the service will be provided by the Tumbling Shoals Baptist Church Praise Team.
