Vernon R. Phillips of Drasco, Arkansas, age 70 passed away at his home on Sunday, August 3, 2025. Vernon was born in Heber Springs, Arkansas on December 17, 1954 to Ralph and Eudora Phillips.
Vernon was a son, brother, husband, pa, great pa, and a friend. He enjoyed being with his family, riding horses, camping, fishing, trading and picking on the girls at the cafe. Vernon was a member of the Macedonia General Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon for the past 24 years and was a Trustee prior. He retired from the Heber Springs Street Department after 30 plus years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy, in October they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, his parents and an infant sister Frances Jane.
Survivors include his daughters Angie Kaye (G.L.) Sutherland and Keenea (Josh) Henderson. Grandchildren Kaylyn (Daniel) Allen, Ethan (Destiny) Sutherland, Cody Henderson, and Ava Henderson. Great Granddaughter Hallie JoAnn Sutherland.
