Verdis Carl Kearbey was born February 7, 1929 in Cane Creek, MO and passed peacefully at his home in Heber Springs, AR on September 13, 2024. He joined the Army during the Korean War and served his country in Germany. In December 1961 he moved his family from Poplar Bluff, MO to Norfolk, NE to begin his career with Sherwood Medical where he worked for 30 years.
After retiring in 1991 he and his wife, Norma, moved to Heber Springs where he continued his passion for gardening.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Norma, and all 9 of his siblings.  

He is survived by his daughter, Carla (Al) Fowler of Searcy, AR; daughter Julie (Gary) Goodell of Fountain Hills, AZ; nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

During his last years, Verdis became very close to his caregivers, and they to him.  The family would especially like to thank his caregivers over the years, most recently Emily and Laken, and also the O’Neill family, his neighbors of 30 years, for the loving kindness that they showed to him.
