Thelma Louise McClusky Obituary

Thelma McClusky was born December 1, 1936, moved from here to a new home on July 16, 2025. Born as a twin along with her sister, Velma McClusky Allen, who lives in Heber Springs.

Thelma lived in and around Independence County for most of her life. Working at jobs available to her, she was a babysitter, housekeeper, caregiver, and worked in a grocery store and Dairy Bar from the 1980’s to 2000.

She loved sewing, quilting for herself and the public, along with gardening and her church and church family.

Her work history - Get there early, stay late, and be honest. Her ways of life were learned from what one reads in the Bible. “Whatever your hands find to do, do it as unto the Lord. Eccl 9:10.

Those who knew her very well, saw that there was a thread running through her, a love for her garden.

To keep a garden there are things that you need to do (See Eccl. 9:10)

Hers was a simple life, but as good of an example to all of us. Two sons sent to work in the garden Matthew 21:28-32. Which one of them and us will do the will of the Father?

My thoughts of when we get to heaven and ask where is Thelma, we will be told, she is in the garden.

Thelma is survived by her twin sister, Velma Allen

She is preceded in death by her father, Andrew “Lee” McClusky; mother, Emma “Little” McClusky; brothers, Luke McClusky (Korean War 1952), Kenneth McClusky, and Elmer “Dude” McClusky.
