Theda Joyce (Smiley) McDaniel

Theda J McDaniel (Smiley) of Heber Springs Arkansas. 

Born in Pauls Valley Oklahoma, on February, 1, 1940 

Married To Richard McDaniel for 63 Years.

She has three children, Staci, Micha, and Brian McDaniel, all in the Heber Springs area. 6 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren. 

Theda was a mom loved and cherished by her children, and grandchildren.  She always had a smile here on earth, and ready for the day when she would be shepherded to her real home.

Theda will be remembered by many as an artist and seamstress.

She spent endless hours with her husband putting beautiful quilts together for her children and grandchildren, as well as making them for the Boys Ranch and various Charities. Her quilts always had a burst of color and a flair in their design and style.

Theda was an excellent oil painter; she took her inspiration from the ocean and many landscapes. She also enjoyed making handmade stained-glass windows. 

She experienced many sunsets fishing on a pontoon boat with the love of her life, Richard.

Many do not know she purchased and rode her own Motorcycle, traveling with Richard and friends, along the California coastline and mountains. They were avid campers, and spent many summers in the foothills and mountains of California, with their children and extended family.

Theda was preceded in death by, her parents and one grandchild. 

In her passing, she is waiting to be reunited with her best friend and husband of 63 years Richard McDaniel of Heber Springs.

Theda’s smile, hugs, and bright eyes, will be missed by family and friends. 

Her Family thanks God for the blessed hope we have in a heavenly reunion.
