Sybil Chisler Obituary

Sybil Ellen Chisler, age 100, of Mt. View, Arkansas passed away Monday, September 14, 2020 at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas. She was born in Daybrook, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Shannon and Myrtle Ivy Moore Wilson.

Sybil was a homemaker and the oldest of ten children. She was born at home and weighed less than 3 pounds. They carried her around on a pillow.  She obviously was born with a strong sense of survival because she lived past 100 years old. Sybil was a natural caregiver that took care of her siblings. She loved to cook, bake, sew, and most of all, she dearly loved her family.

Sybil was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph A. Chisler whom she married on September 22, 1939; one son, Lanny Chisler, and his wife Barbara Chisler; seven siblings, Enos Wilbur “Bill” Wilson, Ethel Lenore Wilson Jones, Freddie James Wilson, Benny Ralph Wilson, Richard Dale Wilson, and Martin Raymond Wilson.

Survivors include a son, Ralph Chisler, JR (Claudia) of Quitman, Arkansas; two sisters, Lottie Dell Shadgett of Orlando, Florida and Bonnie Morgan of Petaluma, California; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and many extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 – 2:00 pm, Monday, September 21, 2020 at Heber Springs Funeral Home followed by a Graveside Service at Cleburne County Memorial Gardens.

Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in the name of Sybil Ellen (Wilson) Chisler.
