Sidney “Sid” James Gagner unexpectedly departed this earth surrounded by his loved ones on May 27, 2020, at the age of 71 in Sherwood Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his parents Raoul and Wilma (Stead) Gagner, and his two brothers Rodney Gagner and Paul Gagner. Sid is survived by his wife of almost 39 years, Judy (Crawford) Gagner and his children James Craig Cocker, Paul “Chris” Eddings, Mirranda Sprayberry, Traci (Gagner) Massery and his son-in-law David Massery. Sid was a grandfather to Kayla (Eddings) Harmon, Titus Eddings, Willie “Danny” Ybanez, Sabrina Ybanez, and Kiya Massery. He had many other loved ones including three great-grandchildren.
Sid was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on March 9, 1949 and was among the first class to graduate as a West Mesa High School Mustang in 1968. His high school years were spent on the football field as a successful fullback. After high school he enlisted in the military and served his country as a Marine in Okinawa during the Vietnam War. During his time in service, he was asked to join the Marine Football League where he continued his love for the game. Sid's children would describe him as a tech savvy (before his time), music loving, guitar playing, movie watching, water fight starting, transportation specialist who enjoyed the “culinary arts”. He loved cross country travel, a random dance in the kitchen with his lovely wife and laughing with his family. He will be dearly missed.
