Ruby Fay Smits, age 72, of Heber Springs passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at her residence. She was born June 27, 1949 in Ottumwa, Iowa to the late William Young and Nadine Teter.

Ruby and her late husband, Richard Carroll Smits, owned R & R Transportation in Heber Springs for many years. She loved flowers, birds, and working in her yard. She kept her yard looking wonderful throughout the year.  Ruby was a fan of many types of music and listened to music all the time. One of her favorite things to do, though, was shopping.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Nadine Young, and her husband Richard Smits.

Ruby is survived by four sons; Paul Smits (Peggy), Allan Smits (Wendi), Gary Smits (Lena), and John Smits; three daughters, Jill Massey (Sam), Pam Melton (Troy), and Carla Voss; three brothers, Les Young (Linda), Gary Young (Marsha), and Larry Young; one sister, Rita Erickson (Gary); and numerous grand children and great-grand children as well as other extended family and friends.

A Memorial Service for Ruby will be 10:00 am Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Heber Springs Funeral Home Chapel.
