Ruby Oleta Hughes was born on February 3, 1938 to John and Myrtle (Jenkins) Hughes. She attended school at Mountain View, Arkansas until the age of 16 when she married Ernest Allender in 1954. Ruby and Earnest were blessed with four children, two boys and two girls.

In 1971, Ruby obtained her Real Estate License and worked at Martin Realty until Mr. Martin passed and Ruby purchased the company. Ruby operated the company until her passing, working over 50 years serving the community and building lasting relationships.

Ruby lived a full life, full of travel and walking with God. She is survived by her significant other, Julius Edge; two sons, Gene Allender of Conway, Gaylan Allender and his wife Judy of Heber Springs, Glenda and Roland of Concord, and Joyce and Gary of Batesville. She also lives on through seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and many, many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Ralph, John Richard, Bryce, and Boyd Hughes; two sisters, Edna Wells, and Lovetta Owens.     

Visitation is 10:00 am, Tuesday, October 04, 2022 at Heber Springs Funeral Home followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 am. The Interment is at Macedonia Cemetery in Drasco, Arkansas.
