Ronald Bruce Russell, 76, of Heber Springs, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at home with his loving wife by his side. He was born in Charleston, West Virginia on October 7, 1945 to the late Rondall and Emily Huddleston Russell.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia Berlinicke Russell; sons, Jim (Angie) Russell of Brighton, Tennessee, Glenn (Tina) Russell of Brighton, Tennessee; stepson, Matthew Dietzel of Pasadena, Maryland, and stepson, Christopher Dietzel (Jodie McFadden) of Seminole, Florida; three grandchildren, Kenton Russell, Austin Russell, and Hailey Russell; three sisters, Anne Coleman, Harriet Montgomery, and Jeannie Craig, all of Memphis, Tennessee; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and other beloved family members.
Ron was a graduate of Frayser High School in Memphis, Tennessee. Upon graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and worked in Japan with the 610 Military Airlift Support Squadron helping coordinate troop movements to and from Vietnam. He was then transferred to Montgomery, Alabama and later served in Colorado Springs, Colorado inside Cheyenne Mountain. After leaving the Air Force, he worked with the Department of Defense as a Computer Specialist.
Ron's first love was family and friends. His interests were the Cleburne County Shooting Club, fly fishing, building things in his shop, and leather work.
Ron was a member of the Cleburne County Shooting Club, the 610 MASS Alumni Association, and a Jack Daniel Tennessee Squire.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
