Roger Dale Liles Sr.

Roger Dale Liles, age 80, passed away from this life on June 17, 2026 after a long period of pain and illness. He was born September 8, 1945 in Heber Springs, Arkansas to the late Odus and Eileen Liles.

Roger served in the National Guard as a mechanic during the Vietnam War. He later went to Michigan and lived with Jim and Maedean where he met Stephanie, mother of his three children. He later married Mary and moved to Morgan City, Louisiana and worked as a mechanic on an Oil Derrick in the gulf. An accident caused his early retirement and he eventually moved back to Drasco, Arkansas where he enjoyed fishing and staying at his brother Jerry’s deer camp hunting and spending time with his brother and their friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Carthalee (CJ), Johnny, Tommy, and Jerry; sister, Bonna Henderson Hersh; and one step-daughter, Brenda.Ratliff of Louisianna.  

Roger is survived by four children, Roger Dale Liles Jr. of Louisiana, Penny Austin (Orville) of Hastings, Michigan, Teresa Perera Liles of the home; step-daughters, Lynn of Louisianna; sisters, Patsy Grady (Gary) of Missouri; sisters in law, Norma Liles and Lynda Liles; a special cousin, Maedean Allexander of Michigan; and 10 grandchildren and great-children, nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended  family and friends. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
