Robert James Provost, age 78, of Heber Springs, Arkansas passed away April 28, 2021 at his residence. He was born May 6, 1942 in Oyster Bay Long Island, New York to the late Joseph and Dorothy Seibold Provost. He was a US Navy Veteran serving from 1961 to 1965.
Robert began flying airplanes at age 16 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He later left college and joined the Navy as a pilot. In 1973 he began flying Falcon Fan Jet aircrafts for FedEx. He continued flying for FedEx until his retirement in 2001. He loved his private plane, Cessna 182 Tail Number N900RP. He received the Bravo Zulu Award (the highest award for aviation) in 1989 after landing a damaged plane. Robert was also an avid fisherman and hunter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Keagan Provost.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Hamden Provost whom he married August 22, 1969; one daughter, Chanin Provost Slisz (Casey) of Conway, Arkansas; one son, Michael Provost of Conway, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Christopher Standfield, Danielle Slisz and Jaxon Provost; niece, Christine Kozelle (Alex) and their children Gabe and Nate, of Rome, Georgia and many friends.
