Rickey Darrell Smith, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his mother’s home on December 3rd, 2021 at the age of 62 after suffering from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

Rickey was born July 23rd, 1959 in Wheatley, Arkansas at the home of his parents, Thomas and Margie Smith. He is proceeded in death by his father, Thomas Smith, and his grandson Chandler Kyle Smith. He is survived by his mother, Margie Smith, his children; Brandon Smith, Darrilyn Schantz, Ethan Hunter Smith, and Lydia Smith, a grand-daughter; Emma Louise Schantz, and his siblings; Edward Smith, Patricia Compton, Brenda Foreman, Jimmy Smith, and Bud Smith.

Rickey was baptized into The General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn, in which he was a firm believer. His baptism took place in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on May 5, 2010 and was performed by his brother, Edward Smith. Rickey was a diligent worker, who drove a truck most of his life, as well as working in construction and mechanics. He enjoyed hunting, riding motorcycles, and was passionate about politics when he wasn’t devoting himself to providing for his family. Rickey found comfort in the scripture: “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” (Matt. 6:14)

Rickey will be laid to rest on Monday, December 6th, 2021. Visitation will be at 12:30 pm, and the service will be at 2:00 pm at Heber Springs Funeral Home located at 1199 Wilburn Rd. Heber Springs, Arkansas.  Burial will follow at The General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn at 64 Candlestick Rd. Heber Springs, Arkansas. Harvey and Bryan Sloate will be officiating.
