Richard (Dick) Brian Brodehl, 84, of Heber Springs, Arkansas died May 8, 2024 at home . He was born May 14, 1939 in Alameda, California, to Ervin James and Clare.  Dick married Louise Marie Owens on June 7, 1962 in Lanham, Md. and she preceded him in death on April 8, 2016. 
Dick attended and graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1962.  He served 22 years as a Navy Meteorologist and retired as CMDR in 1984. After retiring from the Navy, he taught HS NJROTC at Ed White High School in Jacksonville, Florida for the next 11 years. 
Dick loved to woodwork and make furniture in his workshops crafting many memorable pieces for family and friends. He loved showing off his handiwork. You could very often see him pointing and hear him saying, "I made that!".  Dick also made sure to spend plenty of time on the water on his boats with a fishing pole in hand and road-tripping cross country in his RV.  His mind never stopped dreaming, scheming, and wheeling and dealing.  He was always seeking his next adventure with Marie either by Land or Sea. 
Dick remarried Patsy (Hopper) Brodehl in Heber Springs , Arkansas in 2018 and cherished her companionship immensely for these last 7 years. She put a pep in his step and a smile in his heart!
He is survived by his wife, Patsy; brother, Tom Brodehl; sister, Brenda Karlsson; his three daughters, Laurie McGahan (Steve Dyson), Lisa Rush (Craig), Lynda Wolff (Mark) and his son Brian Brodehl (Laura). He has six granddaughters, Megan McGahan, Morgan McGahan, Marie Brown, Michele Haertling, Molly Rush, and Janey Wolff, and a great-granddaughter, Rosie Louise Brown.  His grandsons are Ian Wolff, Hayden Brodehl and Benjamin Brodehl. 
He was preceded in death by his parents Ervin and Clare Brodehl; his wife of 54 years, Louise Marie Brodehl; and his brother, Kevin Brodehl.
