Owen Joe Defoor of Drasco, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on May 25, 2026. Joe was born May 14, 1948 in Heber Springs, Arkansas to his wonderful parents, Willie and Rose Teal Defoor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Linda Stair and husband Verdell, and his nephew, Johnny Stair.

Joe is survived by his niece Joanna Kingston, her husband, Randy, great nephews, Matthew Kingston and wife Meaghan, Mark Kingston and wife Savanah. A niece by marriage Sheila Stair, and great niece Carlee Stair. Joe is also survived by his long time caregiver Trudy Bruton and many other family members and friends.

Joe enjoyed the simple things in life, reminiscing about his younger years, giving advice, and eating a good meal. He loved to tell stories about pulling shenanigans with a group of Drasco boys that he ran with as a teenager. As well as working with Verdell for the forestry service, where they found a rattlesnake and put it in the bed of the truck for Linda to find, needless to say they didn't get lunch that day. Joe would talk about having the smartest Border Collie dog around. She helped him in the chicken house and even kept Joanna in the yard by grabbing and pulling her dress tail. He liked to give Randy and Carlee advice on how to run the farm, when to cut hay, and how they should do things the old way to save money. One of his favorite things was a good home cooked meal, and Joanna was always glad to cook for him. He loved Sheila's cornbread, not just one piece but the whole pan.

His caregiver Trudy was very special to him. He depended on her for a good laugh and their weekly arguments. He thought the world of her. Joe looked forward to his doctor's visits with Dr. Lambert. He teased everyone in the office. On his last visit there, Dr. Lambert said “ You know he is family to us.” That tells you how much people enjoyed being around him.
Uncle Joe will be missed by many, but he will live on in our hearts and memories.
