Nancy Ann (Carlson) Leighton

Nancy Ann Leighton, age 86, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023. She was born March 14, 1936 in Middletown, Connecticut to the late Harry Carlson and Elizabeth Thompson. She attended Hope Lutheran Church. 

Nancy moved to Heber Springs in 1973. Through the years, she became an active member of the Cleburne County Republican Women, Friends of the Library, and a big supporter of the Humane Society. She traveled extensively through the United States and abroad. She loved life and people and was always willing to share how and why you should things. She had a strong faith and loved the Lord. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, George (Josh) Leighton; brothers, Richard and William; sister-in-law, Kay Carlson; and niece, Marlene Carlson. 

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Lynda Powell (John); grandchildren, Cassidy and Levi; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Tiffany and Patricia Carlson; nieces, Roxane Cohen (Mike), Monica Walker (Tom). Christine Ferony (Jeff); cousin, Di Blades; and many special friends. 

Memorial Service with Inurnment is 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Hope Lutheran Church Columbarium in Heber Springs.
