Michael Brent Ward

Michael Brent Ward, 73, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away on August 16, 2023, peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born on October 6, 1949, in Piggott, Arkansas, to Charles M Ward and Ethellea Ward.

Michael was a loving husband, having married Carla Ward on June 21, 1996. He dedicated many years of his life as a guide on the Little Red River, sharing his passion for fishing with others. Additionally, he was a skilled carpenter, showcasing his craftsmanship in various projects.

In his younger years, Michael served his country with honor. He was drafted in the army in 1969 and proudly served in the Vietnam War. His bravery and dedication to his fellow soldiers will always be remembered.

Michael Brent Ward will be forever cherished and remembered by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His love for fishing, his dedication as a carpenter, and his service to his country will leave an indelible mark on those who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carla Ward; his daughter, Brianna Lea Pitard, and her husband, Coty Pitard, along with their two children, Nicholas Pitard and Emma Pitard, all of Heber Springs. He is also survived by his daughter, Christina King, of Quitman, Arkansas, and her two sons, Austin Bradley Turner of Batesville, Arkansas and Jaxson King of Quitman, Arkansas. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Charles Ward Jr, of Drasco, Arkansas; and many more family and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Charles M Ward and Ethellea Ward, and his brother, Jerry Ward, of Escondido, California

A Celebration of Life will be at his home in Heber Springs, Arkansas on October 7, 2023. More information will be available in a later date.
