Micha Wade McDaniel Obituary

Micha passed away October 15, in Heber Springs, Arkansas, surrounded by his brother, Brian McDaniel, and sister, Staci McDaniel. He will be missed by all his family, including his sister-in-law, niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Richard McDaniel and mother Theda McDaniel, both of Heber Springs, Arkansas. He was born, and spent the majority of his life in Atwater, CA, where he attended the Shelby Center School for the Disabled. He was taught to live on his own and to be self-sufficient. Micha was born with Down's Syndrome and Anoxic Brain Injury but was never held back by his disability. He lived on his own for the most of his adult years; and moved to Heber Springs, AR, in 1985; and he walked for miles around town and loved visiting all the downtown shops with his long walking stick and wide brimmed hat. He was big into the Special Olympics and attended several events. He was known by many in town, and was a student at Cleburne County Community School. The family would like to thank all the businesses of Heber Springs that allowed our brother to visit their shops frequently. He considered all of you as “my friends.” Sonic was his favorite destination in town. Any time he went uptown, he would always order a “Route 44 Diet Dr. Pepper with extra ice” and would always get a few peppermints out of their bowl before he left. Micha was a strong believer in Jesus and looked forward to the day when he would have his new mind and body. He loved modeling clay and could form and recite every dinosaur by name. He was an avid camper, swimmer, and walker. Micha was a precious soul who never met a stranger because everyone was a friend to him. He was always willing to help in any capacity he could. Micha was never famous, nor a star athlete. He was just a precious soul God put on this earth to make our day a little brighter. He taught us to be better people. His blue eyes and happy wrinkled-nose smile will be missed. We love you, Boo!
