Maurene H. Peterson

Maurene H. Peterson, age 81 of Heber Springs, Arkansas passed away October 7, 2020, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.  She was born September 28, 1939, in Grand Junction, Colorado, the daughter of the late Fannie Mae Freeman and Horace Hartwig. She was a member of Heber Springs Baptist Church.

Maurene was a military wife, mother and homemaker. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi. She became a member in April 1977 and held many local and state offices throughout the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son; Grady K. Peterson.

Survivors include, her husband Grady C. Peterson, whom she met in Alaska and married on December 9, 1955; A daughter, Donna M. Peterson Capshaw (Jerry); son, Gary A. Peterson (Dina); one brother, Nick (Marliou) Hartwig of Iowa; one sister, Margie Hartwig Dwyer of Illinois; 3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and 10 step-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted for immediate family only at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Cleburne County Memorial Gardens in Heber Springs, Arkansas, with Rev. Mike Love officiating. Arrangements are by Heber Springs Funeral Home.
