Mary Alice Wilhelm, age 90, of Heber Springs, passed away on August 2, 2026 at Baptist Health Center in Heber Springs. She died peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by family and loved ones.
She was of the Baptist faith, and a long-time member of the Sugarloaf Baptist Church in Heber.
Born December 14, 1935, in Upson County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Willis Garrett and Sara Scott.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, George William Wilhelm, her brothers Bobby Garrett, George Garrett and Tony Scott, and by her sister Barbara Dusek.
Survivors include two sons, George W. Wilhelm, Jr. of Endwell, NY and Scott M. Wilhelm of Conway, Arkansas; one daughter, Patricia Wilhelm of Heber Springs; brothers Luther Eugene Scott of San Carlos, Mexico, Nathan Scott of Alabama, and Homer Scott of Heber Springs; one sister, Louise Rudd of Las Vegas; 2 granddaughters and 3 grandsons; two great-granddaughters, two great-grandsons and one great-great-grandson.
She loved her grands so much and enjoyed visiting with them all. She was a fabulous cook and entertainer and at one time loved to paint beautiful forest and wilderness scenes.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, August 7, 2026, at Heber Springs Funeral Home chapel with Brother Tony Criswell officiating. Heber Springs Funeral Home, 1199 Wilburn Road, Heber Springs, 501-887-9152 is in charge of arrangements.
