Mary Jane (Brotzman) Betts

Mary Jane Betts peacefully went to meet our Lord September 12, 2023, in her home, surrounded by family after a very brief illness and just 2 months before her 100th birthday.

Jane began life in Richmond & Albany, California, and enjoyed her teaching career in Chico, California, where she met husband, Elton.  After retirement, they settled in Heber Springs, Arkansas. 

Late in life, Jane was still very active in the Seve Springs Cleburne County Extension Homemakers Club, enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, line dancing, water aerobics, and world travel. 

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elton Betts, and her oldest daughter, Trudy Spencer Maiga. Survivors include daughters Susan Castner of Schertz, TX and Sandy Gutierrez of Colima, Mexico, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and niece/friend Sharon Emerson, and family of Harrison, Arkansas. 

Jane requested that there be no funeral service and she will rest beside Elton in Friendship Cemetery Springdale Arkansas.
