Linda Stair Obituary

Linda Ann Stair, of Drasco, Arkansas, passed away peacefully, February 16, 2023, with her children by her side.  She was born on February 9, 1943 in Batesville, Arkansas.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Verdell Stair, and her parents, Willie and Rose Defoor.

Linda is survived by her daughter and son-in law, Joanna and Randy Kingston; her son and daughter-in law, Johnny and Sheila Stair; two grandsons, and their wives, Matthew and Meaghan Kingston, Mark and Savanah Kingston; one granddaughter, Carlee Stair; one great-granddaughter, Hadley Claire Kingston; and one brother, Owen Joe Defoor. Linda is also survived by other relatives and many friends.

Linda was a member of Oak Grove Church in Wolf Bayou, Arkansas.  She was  homemaker and devoted wife to her late husband, Verdell Stair.  She was also a kind and loving mother and grandmother.

At the young age of sixteen, Linda married the love of her life, Verdell Stair.  They raised their family on the farm, growing chickens and raising cattle.   Her love of flowers was evident.  Their yard was always blooming with a variety of flowers and plants. Linda was always by Verdell’s side whether it was working on the farm or doing mechanic work in the shop.  They were inseparable.  They were the picture of unconditional true love.

Linda loved her family.  She looked forward to family get togethers.  She enjoyed cooking and spending time with their children and grandchildren.  It brought her great pleasure to shop and craft with Joanna.  She cooked Johnny a special meal every Saturday for lunch.  It was important that her children know how special they were to her.

Linda enjoyed the fellowship she had with her church family.  She was known for her sweet potatoes and was expected to bring them to every potluck dinner.  Linda was also a talented artist, seamstress, and crafter.  She worked on handmade gifts throughout the year to donate to the church bazaar fundraiser.

Most importantly, Linda led a Christian life and was an example of a Godly woman.  She was a role model for future generations to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to Oak Grove Church in Linda's honor.
