Larry Colvin passed away peacefully in his home in Heber Springs on July 10, 2023. Born December 12, 1938 in Kokomo, IN to the late Curtis Andrew Colvin and Icy Arlene Goldsberry, he was the youngest in a family of eight children. He was preceded in death by his siblings. He married Janelle Allen on December 8, 1962, and they were together for 60 years. They had three children: Jeffrey (Dee Dee), Todd (Amanda), and Kelly. Further, they had eight grandchildren (Jade, Carly, Lucas, Justin, Jarrett, Ricky, Angela, and Josh) and numerous great-grandchildren.
He graduated from Kokomo where he lettered in track, cross country, and basketball, and from there, at the age of seventeen, he served two years in the Marines. Afterward, he worked for Haynes International for 40 years. He and his wife moved back to her home in Heber Springs in 2014 and have been there ever since. In his spare time, he was an avid golfer and cherished the time he spent with his family.
He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and he always had many friends; he was loved by all, and he will be dearly and deeply missed. He is survived by his wife Janelle.
Funeral service will be Friday, July 14, 2023 at Heber Springs Funeral Home Chapel with visitation beginning at 1:00 until service time.
