Kevin Shawn Orive

Kevin Shawn Orive (born Kevin Shawn Babb), age 53, passed away in West Palm Beach, Florida. Born in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Kevin lived a life defined by brilliant intellect, fiery ambition, and an unforgettable presence.

A natural thinker with a sharp, creative mind, Kevin earned his bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Business Marketing from James Madison University before building a dynamic career as an entrepreneur across various industries. He saw opportunity everywhere and possessed extraordinary potential. When Kevin gave, he gave on a massive scale—he was a big spender who loved treating the people around him lavishly, hosting extravagant, unforgettable parties, and once even purchasing a home for his mother. To those in his orbit, he was wildly inspiring, exceptionally smart, and quick with a sharp, hilarious sense of humor. He challenged the people he cared about to reach higher and become the best versions of themselves.

Kevin lived intensely, loved fiercely, and left an indelible mark on everyone who truly knew him. He impacted the lives of all that knew him. He was a brilliant and an unforgettable human being. He enjoyed golfing, going to the range and practicing marksmanship, riding 4-wheelers, gardening, swimming, and most of all, playing with his 3 dogs. 

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, James Babb.

He is survived by his mother, Alma Orive; his older brothers, Jimmy Babb and Michael Babb; his younger sister, Jennifer Blais—who was always his clear and unabashed favorite; a niece that he considered as his sister, Elizabeth Orive, and an extended network of family, friends, and loved ones.
