Karon Sue Schaumleffel

Karon Sue Schaumleffel, age 77, of Quitman, Arkansas passed away on July 12, 2023 at her residence. She was born January 4, 1946 in Heber Springs, Arkansas the daughter of the late Wayne and Wanda Bittle Harlan. She was a faithful member of Sunny Slope General Baptist Church.

Karon was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her time was spent taking care of her family, babysitting grandchildren, and reading. She was not only a member of Sunny Slope Baptist church where her father was once the pastor but her entire life was dedicated to Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Charlotte Decker.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, John Schaumleffel; two sons, Philip (Johnnie) Schaumleffel and Stephen (Carla) Schaumleffel of Quitman, AR; two brothers Roger (Linda) Harlan of Drasco, AR, and Steve Harlan of Liberty, IN; one Sister, Leeann (Kenneth) Martin of Heber Springs, AR; six grandchildren, Johnathan (Jessie) Schaumleffel of O’Fallon, IL, Scott Schaumleffel of Glen Carbon, IL, Shelbie (Josh) Chance of Rose Bud, AR, Ryan (Michayla) Schaumleffel of Quitman, AR, Alexander Schaumleffel of Quitman, AR, and Heather(Mike) Reddick of Okarche, OK; five great-grandchildren, Sophia and Abigail Schaumleffel, June and Sadie Chance, and Easton Schaumleffel; and a host of other family and friends.

Memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Sunny Slope General Baptist Church with Bro. Roger Harlan officiating.

Heber Springs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
