Karen Ronette Childress, age 56, of Heber Springs, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born on May 23, 1967 in Lynwood, California to the late Leon Duncan and Ronette Ruth Bowers. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Heber Springs.
Karen married the love of her life, Tracey Childress, on November 8, 2000. She had the honor of being a homemaker. She was able to pour her love into her family and raise her children. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren. Some of her favorite things to do was cooking, traveling, and shopping. She absolutely loved gardening, and anything outdoors on the farm. There was nothing she loved better than a Cave City Watermelon.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Ronette Duncan. Karen is survived by her husband, Tracey Childress of Heber Springs; son, Aaron William Lee McCall (Megan) of Bradford, Arkansas; three daughters, Amy Ronette Duvall of Heber Springs, Arkansas, Amber Rae Quattlebaum (Brandon) of Drasco, Arkansas, and Tracey Allison Childress of Heber Springs, Arkansas; brothers, Jack Kelley Reed of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and Craig Louis Reed of Poughkeepsie, Arkansas; sisters, Rhonda Wilson (Kip) of Palmetto, Florida, Kim Brandon (Mike) of South Carolina, and Carrie Parker of Sikeston, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; and many extended family members and great friends. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Visitation is Monday, July 17, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Heber Springs Funeral Home. The Funeral Service is Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 10:00 AM at First Assembly of God Church in Heber Springs, Arkansas followed by the interment at Magness Cemetery in Heber Springs. Rev. Lee Brown is officiating.
