Juanita Cyr Obituary

Juanita Boyd Cyr, age 94, of Heber Springs, went to be with her Lord Jesus on Thursday, March 28, 2024 in her home surrounded by family. She was born and raised in Cabot, Arkansas to the late Jesse and Grace Boyd on October 12, 1929. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist in Rose City for over 30 years before retiring to Heber Springs and joining First Baptist of Heber Springs in 1994.

Juanita created many beautiful memories with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. She was always up for a game of Skip-Bo or Chicken Foot when the great-grands came to visit their home on the Little Red River. Her kids and grandkids have memories of holidays, camping trips and so much love and wisdom she shared with them.

Though we all knew how smart our grandma was, she showed she valued education by working along with her daughter-in-law, Linda, to earn their GED’s in 1986. She was a beautician for over 35 years, an instructor at Beauty College for 2 years, and a Sunday school teacher for over 50 years. For years, she had her own salon which her loving husband, Clovis, added onto their home in Rose City. She enjoyed ministering to and with her “Classy Ladies” and the “Morning Glories”. She and Clovis made dozens of trips with the “Nailbenders” helping build churches and ministering to communities. She was a wonderful example of a leader with a servant’s heart.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her sister, Freida (Gene) Goforth; brother, Judson Boyd (Ruby); and son, Tommy Cyr.

Juanita is survived by her husband, Clovis Cyr; daughter, Patricia Hill; daughter-in-law, Linda Cyr; four grandchildren, Joe Cyr (Heather), Teresa Parker (Tim), Andrea Cheshier (Greg), and Paul Martin (Brandy). She also had 13 great-grandchildren, Tommy Gibson, Ashley Ake (Ethan), Kristen Johnston (Aaron), Kayla Martin, Matt Parker (Anna), Madison Grigsby (Patrick), Hunter Martin (Justice), Nick Cheshier (Sophie), Ty Cyr, Maggie Cyr, Brooklyn McClellan, Hannah Yelland (Eric), and Elizabeth Akines. She also had thirteen great-great-grandchildren so far.

Juanita was grateful for the blessing of so many friends and family to share treasured memories with. She was loved and admired by so many and is now receiving her reward in Heaven.
