Joyce Elaine Walker

Joyce Elaine Walker age 85, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021 in Bay City, Texas.  She was born January 28, 1936, in Tyronza, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Charles Jefferson Stracener and Pauline O’Dell Stracener. Mrs. Walker was a long-time resident of Brazoria, Texas, where she raised her children, was an active member of the community, and was the owner/broker of South Texas Properties until she retired in 1997.  She and her husband Bob began traveling the US with their close friends while their home was being built in Greers Ferry, Arkansas. She soon became a member of Westside Baptist Church in Greers Ferry, was active in the Gideons, loved quilting, sewing, gardening, cooking, and visiting with friends and family.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Walker; her parents; one sister, Mickey; four brothers, Pete, Larry, Don, and Frank Stracener.

Survivors include five daughters, Margarette Olivier, Regina Hopkins, Debbie Kelly, Anita France, and Shannon Kelly Johnston; one stepdaughter, Norma Tiller; two stepsons, Michael Walker, Paul Walker; two brothers, Bill Stracener and Danny Stracener; one sister Judy Dulaney; fourteen grandchildren, and several great grandchildren; and many extended relatives.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Friday, June 18, 2021, at Westside Baptist Church in Greers Ferry, Arkansas, with Bro. Doug Inzer officiating. Interment will be in Shiloh Crossroads Cemetery in Greers Ferry, Arkansas.
