Joy Ray Rhein, age 87, of Edgemont, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2021 at her residence. She was born August 16, 1933 in Oak Grove, Louisiana to the late Raymond Smith and Beulah Allred Smith. She was self-employed beauty shop owner and a member Cominto Baptist Church of Monticello, Arkansas.
She was a very loving mother and grandmother. Her hobbies included crocheting, shopping, and going to casinos.
Joy was preceded in death by husbands, A.D. Potter and Sollie Rhein; one brother, H.B. Bolden; two sisters, Juanita Riddings and Wilma Savage; two children, Paul Potter and Sheila Potter.
Survivors include one son, Allen Dee Potter of Edgemont, Arkansas; one sister, Bobby Bernard of Woodard, Oklahoma; grandchildren, April Harris (Robert) of Edgemont, Arkansas, Corinna Potter (Oscar Ramos) of Booneville, Arkansas, and Miranda Potter of McGehee, Arkansas; six great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.
There will be a graveside service at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 30, 2021 in Copper Springs Cemetery on Brewer Road in Edgemont, Arkansas.
