John (Johnny) David Scott, 93, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on April 2, 1932, in Wilburn, Arkansas, Johnny spent the majority of his life as an over-the-road truck driver. He was well known for his warm personality, love of dancing, and appreciation for all kinds of music.
Johnny is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Sue (Battles) Scott; their children, Cheryl (Steve) Mitchell, Michelle (Joey) Lassiter, and Stacy (Dawn) Scott; grandchildren, Matthew Dewey, Meghan Dunning, Ethan Gentry, Micah Scott, and Ben Scott; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a special nephew, David Scott.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John F. Scott and Rosa B. (Dunn) Scott, as well as ten brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Sugar Loaf Baptist Church in Heber Springs, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Heber Springs Humane Society, 49 Shelter Lane, Heber Springs, AR 72543.
Johnny had a deep love for his pets, the outdoors, and the time he shared with family and friends.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System – Home-Based Primary Care, and to caregiver Janie Wohl, for their kindness and compassionate care.
