Mr. Jimmy Leon James Sr., age 79, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away peacefully May 5, 2020 at his residence. He was born November 1, 1940 the son of the late Robert Washington James and Dewel Simpson James. He was a retired maintenance man at SB Power Tools.
He was an automobile enthusiast who belonged to local car clubs and loved drag racing. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family as well as taking long drives to see Arkansas beauty.
Mr. James was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen James and his parents.
Survivors include: Son, Jimmy James of Heber Springs, Arkansas; two daughters, Tammy James of Bellflower, California and Melanie James and spouse Randall Guynes of Heber Springs, Arkansas; one brother, Roland A. James of Heber Springs, Arkansas; two sisters, Sonya Counts of Round Rock, Texas and Janice Griffin of Little Rock, Arkansas; grandchildren, Sawyer James and Sara James; step-children, Valena, Mike, Joe and their children, along with many friends.
A memorial service featuring a car gathering and cookout is set for 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Rose Bud City Park. If raining, the service will be on May 24th.
