James E. Shea, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, was born on December 22, 1936, in Savannah, Tennessee, the son of the late Ruth Shaw and Elton Bernis Shea. On January 8, 1974, he was united in marriage to Betty Romanoli LaFerny, who survives.
James graduated from Memphis State University. He worked for and retired from E. H. Crump Company in Memphis, Tennessee. His greatest enjoyment was camping and fishing with his family.
James E. Shea departed this life on Saturday, February 12, 2022, in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 85 years, 1 month, and 21 days.
In addition to his wife of 48 years, he is survived by his son, Michael S. Shea of Heber Springs, Arkansas; his step granddaughter, Jessica Kirk, and her husband, William, of Grenada, Mississippi; his step great-grandson, John Casen Kirk; his sister, Mary Lou Williams, and her husband, Jerry, of Savannah, Tennessee; nieces and nephews, Melissa Greene, and her husband, Stephen, of Savannah, Tennessee; Greg Williams, and his wife, April, of Savannah, Tennessee; Don Blankenship, and his wife, Kaye, of Adamsville, Tennessee; Kevin Blankenship of Savannah, Tennessee; Jane Anne Hunsucker, and her husband, Phillip, of Somerville, Tennessee; Julie Blankenship of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; Joy Blankenship of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; cousin, Laura Shaw, of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepson, Phillip LaFerny; and his sister, Barbara Shea Blankenship.
Services will be held at Heber Springs Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 PM, on Thursday, February 17, 2022, with Pastor Tony Criswell officiating. Interment will follow at the Heber Springs City Cemetery in Heber Springs, Arkansas.
