Jess Douglas (Doug) Bittle Jr., age 73, passed away unexpectedly on December 29, 2022, while at home. Doug was born July 24, 1949, in Heber Springs, Arkansas, to Jess D. and Oleda (Kennedy) Bittle. Doug graduated from Quitman High School and attended Arkansas Tech University. He went on to serve in the Army and National Guard for several years. He made a lasting impression and many friends as a rural carrier for the United States Postal Service. Doug enjoyed farming, traveling to livestock exhibitions, antique perusing, and was an avid enthusiast for muscle cars.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents and close brother-in-law Pat Love. He is survived by his wife, Tamie (Fenley) Bittle of Quitman; daughter, Cheyenne Bittle of Quitman; son, Curtis (Rainey) Bittle of Oklahoma City; sister, Jaunita Love of Quitman; and sister Debbie (Eddy) Hipp of Prim. Doug is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Per Doug’s wishes there will be no public memorial service. He only wished for his loved ones to come together privately to celebrate his life on the land that he loved.
