Janet Charlene Williamson, age 86, of Heber Springs, Arkansas passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on October 3, 1934, the daughter of the late Oscar and Justine LaFlam Wilson.
Janet was devoted to helping others and that devotion was shown by her serving as a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Extension Homemakers local and state level, White River Area Agency on Aging, Chairman of Renagar Board, volunteer 4 H Instructor, County Fair Judge, founding member of Cleburne County Cares, instrumental in establishment of the Heber Springs Senior Citizens Center, lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church of St. Louis, and more recently, a member of Hope Lutheran Church of Jacksonville, Arkansas.
She was a firm believer that seniors should be helped and given the care they need. Janet seldom ever met a stranger and dearly loved her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Naomi McCamy and one brother, Eugene Wilson.
Survivors include her husband, Lee Paul Williamson whom she married May 14, 1955; one son, Mark Williamson (Katherine) of Lincoln, Nebraska; one daughter, Dianna Hadick (Clay) of San Antonio, Texas; one brother, James Wilson of St. Louis, Missouri; two grandchildren, Aaron Williamson and Timothy Hadick; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Hope Lutheran Church in Jacksonville, Arkansas with Rev. Kevin R. Conger officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Janet’s memory to Waychoff Senior Center, 320 Trailwood Drive, Heber Springs, Arkansas 72543 or Hope Lutheran Church at 1904 McArthur Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas 72076.
Cremations arrangements are by Heber Springs Funeral Home.
