Jim Magouyrk, 79, of Rose Bud, passed away on Sunday, 28 December 2025 at home. He was born 26 October 1946 in Los Angeles, CA to the late Hancel H.

Jim was an avid golfer with a single digit handicap (till his stroke), he loved fishing, hunting, playing rugby with the Tacoma Nomad Ruby Club (playing may tournaments throughout the PNW and western Canada and riding his Harley as a member of the Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club.

Upon graduating from high school, Jim enlisted in the US Army serving as a tank driver on the DMZ in Korea. His first tour in Vietnam was as a platoon leader with the 101st Airborne Div. He was an A-team leader with the 1st Special Forces Group on Okinawa, and ran the command center in Seoul, Korea. His language qualification in Korean sent him back many times TDY and on yearlong assignments. Jim received many awards during his military service including the DSC (Distinguished Service Cross), Purple Heart, Silver Star, CIB, and several more. He entered as private and finished as major (retired).

After retiring Jim was a line tech for a cable company and was then recruited to be a broadband technician for Tacoma City Utilities cable co. He retired as the City of Tacoma's supervisor of the network operations center.

Jim is survived by his wife Barbara, formerly Stathakis, children Michael, (Queenie), Nicole (Dave), two grandchildren Raphiel (Vivian) and Catherine, two great grandchildren Scarlett and Ryver
