James Joseph Benkert, age 80, of Heber Springs, Arkansas passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020. He was born November 4, 1940 to the late Frank Benkert and Laura O’Shea Benkert. He was a U.S. Navy vetera

He loved walking, especially on nature trails, loved going out to eat, shopping, and any activity involving family time.

James was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, James Benkert II and Christopher Benkert; siblings, Frank Benkert, Jr., Elizabeth Cameron, Deloris Hall, Paul Benkert and John Benkert.

Survivors include two daughters, Carrie Mamagona of Drasco, Arkansas and Bethany Benkert of St. Petersburg, Florida; one brother, David Benkert and wife Barbara of Utah; one sister, Mary Roth of Pennsylvania; sister -in-law, Deb Howey of Heber Springs, AR; eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and many friends.
