Henry Brockway Obituary

 

Henry “Hank” Brockway passed away on November 24, 2019 in Little Rock, AR.  Hank battled Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) for 15 years and survived longer than the majority of AML patients.  Hank was born on May 16, 1960 to Robert K. Brockway and Rosemary K. Brockway.

Hank will always be remembered for his excellent memory, great sense of humor, and his love for his family.   Hank worked in numerous sales positions in various industries and was very successful.  Hank lived life to the fullest every day, regardless of his medical condition.  Hank won many scholastic awards during his college career including:  Outstanding Sophomore, Citizenship Award, Hochstetler Award, Agriculture Achievement Award, Who’s Who Among American Juniors.  He graduated from Arkansas State University at Beebe with an Associate Degree in 1981 and University of Missouri at Columbia with a BS in Animal Science in 1982.

Hank will be forever loved and missed by all who knew him.  He was met in Heaven by his father (Bob), his mother (Rosemary), and his sister-in-law (Karen Kaye).

Hank is survived by his sons, Robert Brockway of Cave City, AR and Clint Brockway of Little Rock, AR; grandson, Bentley of Cave City, AR; Sisters, Fran Brockway of San Antonio, TX and Lee  McCloud of Temple City, CA; Brothers, Donald Brockway of Cabot, AR and James Brockway (Karen) of Beebe, AR; nieces, Kristie Mills (Greg) of Aviston, IL, Kelsie Brockway of Marion, AR, and Alyssa Brockway of Cabot, AR; nephew, Jordan Brockway (Katelyn) of Temple, TX; step-mother, Alice Brockway of Cabot, AR.

The family would like to thank the UAMS physicians, nurses, techs, and the many other personnel for providing such excellent care to Hank.  Over the course of the last 15 years, the UAMS staff became Hank’s 2nd family.     

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2019, from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Charity Baptist Church, 250 Balding St, Ward, AR  72176.  A Celebration of Life Service honoring Hank will immediately follow.

This is not good-bye, it is until we meet again in Heaven. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the UAMS Friends and Alumni Online Community, Myeloma Center – Other (Patient Support donations) via https://securelb.imodules.com.  This fund provides assistance with items such as transportation and travel funds to future AML patients.
