Helen Xiques, age 95, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Friday, November 22, 2024. She was born June 24, 1929 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late John Henry Morrow and Mona Sydney Speller. She was married to George M. Xiques Sr. for 45 years before his passing.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents; brothers, Paul Morrow and Louie Frank Morrow; and sister, Carolyn Chandler.
She is survived by her sons, George Xiques Jr. (Catherin) of Kennesaw, Georgia, Kenneth E. Xiques (Geralyn) of Huntsville, Alabama, and Gary L. Xiques (Marsha) of Heber Springs, Arkansas; daughter, Carol J. Vandoesburg of Heber Springs, Arkansas; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was a founding member of National Avenue Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee until she moved to Heber Springs and joined Tumbling Shoals Baptist Church. While living in Memphis, she worked at the Hostess Factory for 37 years before she retired. Helen loved to crochet, square dance, make ceramics, sing, but most of all, she loved her ice cream. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
