Hazel Lee Teegarden passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021, at her home in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Hazel was born September 5, 1931 in Hopewell, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Sim and Evadee Parish Davis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; Thomas Joe Gay, Billy Charles Morton, and Nelson Teegarden; son, Tony Gay; brothers, Willie Davis and Hulen Davis; sisters, Elsie Boyd and Marie Sherrod; and grandson, Ivan Konnoff.
Hazel is survived by her children, Keitha Clements of Scotia, CA, Thomas Gay, Kendall Gay, and Timothy Morton; brother, Charles Davis (Sharlyn); sister, Brenda Simmons all of Heber Springs, AR; eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Hazel lived much of her adult life in Manteca, CA where she was a member of the Sequoia Baptist church. She was a homemaker and wonderful mother to her children. Her grandchildren were truly her pride and joy. Hazel enjoyed crocheting, playing Sudoku and video games, and working jigsaw puzzles.
Hazel moved back to Heber Springs, AR in 2009. There she reconnected with family and friends. She loved to reminisce about fun times she had with classmates at the old Darcy schoolhouse and share stories of how things used to be in a slower paced world.
This kind soul will be missed by her family, but they rejoice in knowing they will see her again some sweet day.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Monday, February 8, 2021, at Heber Springs Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Morrison officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time. Interment will be at South Crossroads Cemetery in Hopewell, Arkansas.
