Mr. Glen D Barnes, age 89, of Forrest City, Arkansas passed away in Heber Springs, Arkansas on Friday August 29, 2025. Mr. Glen was born April 18, 1936, in Leachville, Arkansas, and was the son of Troy Barnes and Edna Duncan Barnes.

Glen was a truck driver primarily hauling milk for Coleman Dairy. He loved casting a line on a muddy river, never passed up a good dessert especially with a cup of coffee, always had a favorite cologne on hand, and couldn’t resist the thrill of trying his luck at the casino. He never met a stranger—always quick with a smile and a story—and could play a mean harmonica when the mood struck, or a kid ask.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents; and wifes, Dorothy L Hood of 27 years and Jackie L Jackson of 32 years; sisters, Jonnie, Lois, LaVonda; brother, Carl; and son in law, Doug.

He is survived by his sister, Wilma; and brothers, Jimmy, Tommy, and Bobby Joe; two children, Lisa Thurmond and Doyle Barnes; one grandson, Michael (Aida) Thurmond; two great grandsons, Jordon and Matthew Thurmond.

Visitation will be 5:30 PM, Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Heber Springs Funeral Home followed by the Funeral Service at 6:30 PM.
