Gary Taylor Crocker, 85, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away on March 18, 2026 surrounded by his family. 

Born on August 16, 1940, he was the son of Horace and Jennie Crocker of Clarksdale, Mississippi. 

Gary dedicated his career to law enforcement, retiring as Captain of Detectives making an impact on the City of Clarksdale. 

Gary enjoyed many things including gardening, landscaping, and watching sports. Above all else, Gary loved his family - BIG and without reservation. His presence was steady, his love was strong, and his pride in those closest to him was evident in everything that he did. Time spent with family was what mattered most to him, and those moments will be cherished forever. 

Gary leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, humor, and wisdom that will never be forgotten. 

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Elaine Carpenter Crocker; his children, Steve Crocker (Becky), Melynda Bounds (Jon), Christy Butler and Jennifer Crocker; his grandchildren, Ashlea Barnhill (Chris), Lexie Crocker, Taylor Kerley (Zack), Rachel Bounds, Presley Butler, Thomas Butler, and Ryan Crocker; three great-grandchildren, Jonathan Barnhill, Elizabeth Barnhill, and Bexlie Crocker; and a sister, Martha Hawkins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Jennie Crocker; a brother, Howard Crocker; and a sister, Janice Williams.

A Celebration of Gary’s life will be held at his home in Heber Springs, March 19, 2026.

Gary Crocker will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His stories, his laughter, and love he gave so freely will live on in all that knew him.
