Gary Lee Bennett Jr., 56, of Rose Bud, Arkansas passed away unexpectedly on April 27, 2026. Gary was born to Gary Lee Bennett Sr. and Janie (McCloud) Bennett on November 24, 1969 in Newport, Arkansas.

Gary grew up in Rose City, Arkansas, graduating from Northeast Highschool in 1988. After graduating high school, Gary joined the US Navy and was stationed in San Diego, California. Gary was aboard the USS Independence in 1991, which was the first aircraft carrier to arrive in the Gulf during the launch of Dessert Storm. Gary was proud to be a Veteran and had many stories of his time served in the Navy. In 1997, Gary married his wife Michelle Stonewalter and together they had 4 children.

Gary was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Arie and Verva (Evans) McCloud of Newport, Arkansas; paternal grandparents, Charles R. Bennett and Betty Smith of Newport, Arkansas; and his father-in-law, Gerald Stonewalter of Heber Springs, Arkansas.

Gary is survived by his wife of 28 years, Michelle Bennett; sons, Gary Lee Bennett, III (Trey) and James R. Bennett; daughters, Jasmine R. Bennett and Samantha N. Bennett, all of Rosebud, Arkansas; parents, Gary and Janie Bennett; sisters, Leanna (Herman) Warren and Melissa (Mike) Allen; his mother-in-law, Diane Stonewalter; brother-in-law, Gerald Stonewalter Jr.; and sister-in-law, Stephanie (Daniel) Moudy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Gary was especially close to his cousin, Chuck Bennett.

A Memorial Service will be held in honor of Gary at 2:00pm, Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Heber Springs Funeral Home in Heber Springs, Arkansas.
