Everette E. Mathis (Red), age 73, of Heber Springs, Arkansas was born on March 15, 1950. He went to be with the Lord on March 13, 2024. He was the son of the late Mary Louise Mathis.
Hobbies included reading, traveling, watching football and baseball games. He never knew a stranger. He loved everyone that crossed his path and was known for practical jokes.
He served as a United States Marine from 1967 - 1971. He also served as the Cleburne County Veterans Service Officer from 2000 until he retired in 2012.
He was a lifelong member of the American Legion, VFW, and the DAV (Disabled American Veterans). He always helped veterans in any way he could.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Patricia Mathis, and mother, Mary Mathis. He was very devoted to his family, friends, and other veterans.
He is survived by his daughter, Teri Ashley Adams and her husband, Charles; his grandchildren, Jackson Avery, Jolene Ashley and Patricia Ann Adams; life partner, Janet Vogle; and her children, Shane Hankins (Fiancee’, Jennifer Hall), Angela Rice and husband, David and children, Haley Hankins (Fiancee’, Aaron Woods), and Alanah Rice, Josh Hankins and his partner, Melissa Stannard and children, Kyra and Laci. He is also survived by a sister, Patricia Collins; and brother, Jim Mathis; and many other relatives and friends.
