Doris Virginia Heath, resident of Heber Springs, formerly of McCrory, Arkansas passed away Monday, January 20 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Heber Springs. She was 96 years old. Doris was born August 20,1928 in Bay, Arkansas to James Dee and Clyda Cleo Haynes.

Doris was first married to Royal Lester Rand in 1945. Together they had three children; Don Rand and wife Joyce of Quitman, AR; Dianne Tiner Logan and husband Darrell of Drasco, AR; Danny Rand and wife Yvette of Gainesville, TX

Later, in 1989, she married William Henry “Bill” Heath whose children are Janice Willams and husband James of McCrory, AR; John B. Heath and wife Ada of McCrory, AR; Belinda Faubion and husband Joe of Richardson, TX.

Known as “ Granny” to young and old alike, Doris was definitely a “people person”. She was deeply loved by her children, step-children, and their spouses, as well as her numerous grandchildren, other relatives, and friends. She was most happy when surrounded by family and friends in an atmosphere abundant with laughter and love. Doris liked to dance (two-step and square dance), enjoyed country music and was a very competitive canasta player. She was a member of Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Heber Springs and left behind many friends at Pleasant Ridge General Baptist in Ida and Calvary Baptist Church in McCrory.

Grandchildren: Leanne Rand Vinson, Derek Rand, Todd Brogdon, Grant Brogdon, Alison Tiner West, Clint Rand, Courtney Rand Cross, Cassidy Rand Hinson, Evan Rand, Taffi Adams, Sean Williams, Dionne Williams Thompson, Julie Williams Dailey, Jared Heath, and Lori Heath Kendrick.

Great Grandchildren: Rebecca Brogdon Corkern, Ben Brogdon, Mary Fran Brogdon, Tyner West, Troy West, Caley Vinson, Ransom Rand, Tatum Rand, Kesslyn Cross, Hayes Cross, Hayden Watson, Sawyer Rand, Sloan Rand, Emma Hinson, Heidi Hinson, Kelby Williams McGee, Kendal Williams, Heath Kendrick, Lexi Kendrick, Lily Heath, and John William Heath.

Survivors include her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren mentioned above. She is also survived by her nephew David Whitaker and wife Annette of Village Park, Illinois, and her very close friend, Darlias Baker of Heber Springs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill Heath, her sister Delois Lund, son-in-law Bill Tiner, and niece Linda Nelson. She was also preceded by granddaughter-in-law Schree Brogdon, and great granddaughter, Lily Elise Brogdon.
