Doris Ruth Broman

Mrs. Doris Ruth Broman, age 93, of Heber Springs, Arkansas passed away January 28, 2019 at Southridge Village Nursing and Rehab. Born February 20, 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Jules and Genevieve Mundy Hermle.  She married Eldon Broman on December 9, 1950 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Doris attended St. Louis schools and then Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri where she majored in fashion design and art.  During her working years she was a designer for Sid-Harris Sportswear and Imperial Knitting Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In addition, she taught pottery at the YWCA in Waukesha, Wisconsin for seven years.

Her hobbies included traveling, gardening, golfing, making pottery, and quilting.  She also played piano, guitar, dulcimer and other instruments. She loved her church and was an avid Green Bay Packers football fan.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Heber Springs.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one sister, Virginia Hermle.  Survivors include a sister-in-law, Lora (Jack) Zeman of Spartanburg, SC; nephews and nieces: Karl Olson of Whitewater, WI, and Jill Hendley, Holly Perry, Gregg and Kevin Zeman of Spartanburg, SC, their spouses, and many friends.  She was also preceded in death by nieces Kristine (Olson) Berglin and Kathryn (Olson) Grill.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am, Monday, February 4, 2019 at Heber Springs Funeral Home Chapel with the service following at 11 a.m. Brother Tommy Toombs will officiate. Interment will be in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Heber Springs, Arkansas.
