David Howard Hargis, age 70, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, passed away at Springhill Baptist Medical Center in North Little Rock, Arkansas on Saturday, January 8, 2022. He was born in Dumas, Arkansas on November 2, 1951 to the late David Hargis and Rachel Millwood Hargis.
Howard worked for Granite Mountain Quarries as a machine operator for over 40 years. Operating big machinery was just part of his love. His other love was buying, selling, parting out, and repairing tractors, especially John Deere tractors. His love for tractors connected him with people all across the United States who bought and sold tractor parts and supplies with him. Another love of his was two cylinder engines. Howard was one of the founding members, and the President of the Central Arkansas Two Cylinder Club for many years.
Howard is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Hargis; and his parents.
He is survived by one brother, Cleve Phillips of Heber Springs, Arkansas; one sister, Bernell Stevens (Wilbur) of Searcy, Arkansas; and many nephews, nieces, extended family members, and the many friends from the Central Arkansas Two Cylinder Club and customers from across the United States.
Visitation for Howard is 10:00 am, Friday, January 14, 2022, followed by an 11:00 am funeral service at Heber Springs Funeral Home, 1199 Wilburn Rd., Heber Springs, Arkansas, 72543.
