Charles Robinson Obituary

Charles Eugene Robinson, aged 88, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away on September 15th at Saint Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas following heart complications.

Charles was born on April 2, 1933, to Elmer Bryan Robinson and Pearl Mae Culp in Leachville, Arkansas. After graduating from Charleston (Missouri) High School in 1951, he joined the United States Air Force active duty. Charles achieved the rank of Master Sergeant and retired after 22 years of service. Notably, he earned the Air Force Achievement, Good Conduct, Commendation, Meritorious Service and European Army of Occupation Medals.

After retiring from the Air Force, Charles started a new career in Oklahoma City, working for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as a first-level manager in the Logistics Communication shop. He retired again after 20 more years in 1995. He also managed to achieve two associate degrees from the Oklahoma City Community College.

In 1955, he met Dora Stafford in an East Prairie, Missouri drug store. A short nine days later they were married in Hernando, Mississippi. On September 24, 2021, they would have been happily married 66 years!

Charles enjoyed wood-working, antique Volkswagens and taking his dog Susie swimming at the lake. He was a remarkably kind Christian man.

Charles is predeceased by his parents, brothers Edward and Elmer Bryan Jr., and sisters Thelma Julian and Gladys Batey. He is survived by his wife Dora, his sisters Bertha Davidson of Tahlequah Oklahoma, Linda Attwell of St. Louis Missouri, and Shirley Bryant of Charleston, Missouri. He is also survived by his five children: Cynthia Garcia of Aquia Harbour, Virginia; Bryan, Edward, and Denise Bynum of Oklahoma City, and Alan Robinson of Heber Springs. He leaves 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
