Charles Henry Gorham, age 85, of Quitman, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2019. Born August 21, 1933, in Sibley, Michigan he was the son of the late Frederick and Mary Oltz Gorham.
He was an original charter member of Cleburne County Baptist Church and a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.
He was a family man that enjoyed watching his grandkids and great-grandkids play ball. He loved his entire family and church family and was active in the jail ministry.
His hobbies included working jigsaw puzzles, making wooden boats, model cars and planes, and wood crafts.
Mr. Gorham was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Layson Gorham; his parents; one son, Charles Frederick Gorham and one daughter, Debbie Jo Gorham.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce Eric Gorham of Rose Bud, Arkansas and Dennis Keith Gorham (Angelika) of Heber Springs, Arkansas; one daughter, Kathy Sue Sneed (David) of Batesville, Arkansas; one sister, Mary Ellen Perry of Warren, Michigan; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and many family members and friends.
A visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Monday night, January 28, 2019 at Cleburne County Baptist Church. The funeral service will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the church with Bro. Andrew Aaron, Bro. Tim Crumpton and Matthew Gorham officiating. Interment will follow in Pearson Cemetery in Quitman, Arkansas with Military honors provided by the American Legion Post 64.
